Manthralayam Sankalpa Seva

Posted - 2 June 2019

This very moment, as complete consulting for one of my old friends, i am forced to write this by Shri Rayaru himself. Born as Shri Prahalad Maharaj, Shri Bahlika Maharaj, Shri Vyasaraja Thirtha in three previous successive births, currently the great saint of Manthrayalam Shri Rayaru has declared that he will be in his Brindhavan for 700 years, of which 350 years has passed by. I am writing my own way of doing Sankalpa Seva and there might be others that you may follow.

There is one place on Earth, that i like the most which is Navabrindhavan, the abode of 9 Dwaita Saints of which Shri Vyasaraja takes the central location. I allocate 5 days for Seva and i begin my first day at Navabrindhavan at Anegondi. If Ekadashi falls in between, its better. You might want to take bath in Thungabadra on the island in a shallow place. I fast until i finish my pradikshinas and chanting. I begin early morning, pray Shri Narayana, Shri Vayudevaru, and Avathara Thriya Hanuman and do Pradikshina of the Brindhavans until i feel tired. I do as many Namaskaras as i want starting with Shri Narayana, Shri Vayudevaru and the 9 Dwaiti Saints. I do the sankalpa with a few lines, just one wish and complete faith and thank them as i go around. At the moment when i cannot walk anymore, i sit in the cave and chant Shri Rama Nama or the Names of the Dwaiti Saints which is inscribed there.

I reach Manthralayam by end of day and arrange for garlands to Shri Manchalamma, Shri Raghavendra Swamigalu and Shri Vadeendra Teertharu for the next day. If you wish to garland other Brindhavans in the temple complex, you may do so. I have procured the 3 Day (or any number of days) Sankalpa Seva ticket and arrange for 2 coconuts outside the temple. The next day i carry the coconuts with me, have the darshan of Shree Manchalamma, pray her for all success with my wishes and enter the prahara. I visit the Sanctum Sanctorum of Shri Vayudevaru and Shri Rudra Devaru and put forth my wishes and request for their blessings. Since i am dressed in traditional clothing, i will have access to the main entrance. Right there i stand before the Brindhavan of Shri Raghavendra Swamigalu, offer the coconuts (display the ticket for sankalpa seva) and request Shri Rayaru for his blessings. I do the same at Shree Vadeendra Swamigalu Brindhavan. I have the darshan of other Brindhavans behind the temple and pray for their blessings. After this i start pradikshina of the Brindhavans and do 11 Namaskaras in the 8 corners and right in front of the 2 main Brindhavans. I chant the Mantra of Swamigalu as i do the pradikshina with faith. The number of Pradikshinas is left to your physical fitness. After this i sit behind the brindhavan in a calm place and continue chanting his mantra. You must participate in the Moola Rama Pooja. After this you may break your fast at the temple.

Stay in the temple until it closes for afternoon. You might be lucky if someone asks you to work for the Parimala Prasadam kitchen. In the evening, the pradikshina resumes with a bath. No sleep is allowed during the day. I have light dinner of nuts and fruits (no grains). The clothing i have, becomes my mat at night on the floor. This repeats for the next 2 days. After 3 days, the 4th day morning, i finish my pradikshina and go to the Sannidhi of Shri Raghavendra Swamigalu and request him to accept my 'seva' even if it has a million defects. I show the seva ticket to the priest and he gives a coconut back. From then on, the coconut IS Shri Raghavendra Swami. I wrap him in silk cloth tight and carry him back to my pooja room at home with all respect. Once i reach home, i place Shri Rayaru (in the form of coconut) in a Kalasam with Mango leaves, on Rice, garland him every day, do seva as i did in Manthralayam for 3 more days. On the 4th day, i break the coconut and eat all of it in the same day. During any time, you will have the darshan of Shri Raghavendra Swamigalu in your dream. Its okay if he doesn't come in your dream, but he makes sure your wishes are granted.

It gives me great sense of accomplishment writing this. Most often, i tell my clients, i am more an agent of Swamigalu sending them to Manthralayam than an astrologer. Follow this with faith on Him and he is with you for the rest of your life.
