Ayanamsa - Core of Hindu Vedic Astrology

Posted - 29 March 2019

Apart from rotation and revolution, the Earth also has its axis precessing which takes roughly 26,000 years. There are other subtler movements which don't affect life on Earth. This precession, that translates to Ayanamsa in Hindu Astrology is the core of our system. This gives rise to sidereal zodiacs. Finding Ayanamsa is next to Godliness and can only be 'declared' by Samyama, a Yogic process. The Rishis documented and gave mathematical techniques to figure this out, but not for eternity. This leads to differences in panchangs and the so many popular types of Ayanamsas.
When a person is born in a degree of Lagna Rashi that is close to the next Rashi, say 29 degrees 30 seconds or 1 degree, the predictions would fail. If i didn't learn Astrology, i would have had my wrong horoscope for the above mentioned reason. I apply practical techniques to ascertain the right Lagna and Ayanamsa to be followed. Note that all predictions fail if this is not set right.
